Riya Sen is one of the well-known and most hot Indian film actresses and models in Bollywood. She is the daughter of famous actress Moon Moon Sen and granddaughter of legendary actress Suchitra Sen. Her sister Raima Sen is also a popular name in Bengali cinema.
Riya Sen was born in Kolkata and completed her schooling from Loreto House. She completed her graduation from Rani Birla Girls’ College. Riya Sen also passed a course in Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. She took training in Kathak dance. She is also trained in Kick Boxing as well as belly dancing.
Acting and Modeling Career of Riya Sen:
At the beginning of her career, she gained popularity as a model when she started acting in various music videos such as ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi’ from the music album ‘Chudi Jo Khankayi’ sung by Falguni Pathak, ‘Kahin Kahin Se’ and ‘Jab Samne Tum’ sung by Asha Bhonsle and Jagjit Singh, ‘Dil Kahin Hosh Kahin’ sung by Asha ji, Lata ji and Jagjit Singh, ‘Jhumka Gira Re’ sung by Asha ji, ‘Sutta’ sung by Shaan, ‘Jeena Hai Tere Liye’, sung by Sonu Nigam.

Acting Career of Riya Sen in Films:
Riya Sen’s first film was ‘Vishkanya’ which was released in 1991. She played the child role of the character of Pooja Bedi in this film. She appeared in the Tamil movie titled ‘Taj Mahal’. ‘Love You Hamesha’ was supposed to be her first Bollywood film but this film got stalled and she then debuted in the comedy film ‘Style’, starring Sharman Joshi, Sahil Khan and Shilpi Mudgal. The film was hit and Riya Sen became a well-known face in Bollywood.
Riya Sen’s next successful film was ‘Jhankar Beats’ directed by Sanjay Ghosh. Shayan Munshi, Rahul Bose, Juhi Chawla, Rinki Khanna, Sanjay Suri also acted in this film.
In the year 2005, Riya Sen appeared in Hindi film ‘Shaadi No.1’ directed by David Dhawan. She also appeared in few more Hindi films like ‘Plan’, ‘Qayamay’ Dil Vil Pyar Vyar’. She had small roles in these films. She appeared in Item numbers for the films ‘Heyy Babyy’ and ‘James’.
Riya Sen appeared in films of various languages such as Hindi, Bengali, English, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. ‘It was raining that night’ was her English movie. ‘The Bachlor’ is one her Bengali movies. ‘Ananthabhadram’ is her most successful Malayalam movies. ‘Nenu Meeku Tehusa…?’ is one of her Telugu movies.
